Day 10 Scottish Tour

Day 10

This morning I awoke at 6.15 am, packed my suitcase and made my way downstairs for a last delicious breakfast before heading to Edinburgh airport.

This is the view from my hotel room in Edinburgh. The white canopy belongs to the new science center "Our Dynamic Earth" and behind it you can see part of  "King Arthur's Seat."

As previously arranged by CIE Tours, a private car picked me up at the hotel delivered me to the airport and that was the end of my visit to Scotland.

The US Airways flight from Edinburgh to Philadelphia was non-eventful, it was half full and once again I had a row to myself. The lunch served was okay, the wine was complimentary and the movie was good (The Monuments Men). Surprisingly US Airways served two hot snacks before we landed and the snacks were very good. It was a bit sad leaving Scotland because I don't know if I'll ever be back but I must say that was one of the best vacations I ever had.

View of the clouds over Edinburgh as I took off on US Airways.

My flight from Philadelphia to Orlando wasn't great because we had a noisy crowd on board but when I finally made it back to my house, look who was there to welcome me home. I don't know where it came from but this turtle was crawling up the driveway of my home in Kissimmee, Florida.

A stray turtle in my driveway.

The house looks a lot better than when I first moved in. Palm trees, sunshine and torrential downpours welcome me home.
